There may be more than one place on this earth that resonates as “home” for a person. One of my homes would be the San Juan Islands in Washington State.
Frequently, we travel to Orcas Island in October. September and October is their “Golden Season”, and a great time to investigate nature and soak in the Autumn vibe that prevails in occasional hamlets and in the town of Eastsound. Walking the lake path is an enriching way to spend the morning or afternoon, taking in nature and meditating on all things positive. Our favorite place to stay was in a cottage near the water at Deer Harbor. Recently the cottage has reverted back to a private residence, so we will begin to explore other possibilities. Arriving and departing from the San Juans by seaplane is a never ending Northwest treat for me! I eagerly look forward to our next visit.
